Description:
The Inventory Supervisor at Once Upon A Child is responsible for supervising, directing and completing the daily activities for inventory replenishment, maintenance and control. Activities include Replenishment, Bin Counts/Rotation, Loading/Unloading, Merchandise Preparation, Tagging New Product, Rack Maintenance and other processes that affect inventory and its accuracy. He/she also directs and trains inventory specialists on inventory operations. Must follow onsite and offsite processes and procedures to ensure proper rotation, financial accuracy and store fulfillment that meets or exceeds company targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Distributes, maintains and rotates inventory in a timely manner to sales floor following seasonal plan. Ensure products are constantly available for the customers and racks are filled to standards.
• Direct and support inventory staff in completion of work to meet standards.
• Participate in preparing store for and conducting periodic inventory audits and annual counts.
• Participates in the planning and execution of seasonal merchandising changes, floor set and sale events according to standards and expectations.
• Reports any theft, suspected theft, problems or discrepancies to management immediately.
• When on sales floor, look and act in a professional manner.
• Clear communication and teamwork with staff and management to ensure accomplishment of operational goals.
• Maintains back room and offsite storage in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
• Attends store meetings and training sessions as requested.
• Understand and adheres to all safety procedures; ensure safe work practices are followed and maintain a safe work environment.
• Contributes to other tasks and projects to keep store running smoothly.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises 2-4 employees in a retail store. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be eighteen years of age
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must pass the background check
• Must work Monday - Friday starting at 6am, availability to work extended hours during peak seasons or floor flips.
• 1+ year's retail, stockroom, shipping & receiving, or warehouse inventory experience.
• Must be reliable and punctual with solid work history
• Valid authorization to work in the U.S. is required; no visa sponsorship is available for this position
Physical Job Requirements:
Must continuously stand or walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel; crouch and talk/hear. Regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying bins or product of weight of 8-30 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities :
• Ability to create a sense of urgency in work, reacting quickly and appropriately to developing problems in the store
• Ability to independently make sound business decisions
• Strong verbal communication skills, able to motivate and direct store management and associates to task completion
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks at once and prioritize work
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
