Looking for a full-time warehouse role with a steady Monday-Friday schedule and competitive hourly pay? Professional Contractor Supply is seeking a detail oriented Inventory Control Specialist to support operations at our Columbus, OH distribution center! This position plays a key role in keeping our inventory accurate and our operations running smoothly.
General Job Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory inventory levels and organized warehouse operations. This role involves daily cycle counting, coordinating with purchasing and operations teams to resolve inventory discrepancies, and actively participating in warehouse organization and optimization projects. S/he will also assist the warehouse and shipping teams with general tasks, operate machinery safely, and adheres to all company policies, including maintaining confidentiality and promoting a positive work environment.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities
  • Daily cycle counts of inventory using RF Smart.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Stocking and Operations Management regarding shortages, overages and daily counts.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Stocking and Operations Management to schedule counts.
  • Warehouse organizational projects as directed and agreed upon by management to include but not limited to:
    • Identifying inventory problem areas with management
    • Ensuring each area of the warehouse is organized during daily cycle counts
    • Relocating high turn inventory to more accessible picking locations
    • Rotating inventory with expiration dates
    • Identifying unsellable inventory and coordinating the return/adjustment with Purchasing and/or Management
  • Assist warehouse and shipping team members with difficult to locate items at scheduled times or periodically throughout the workday.
  • Assist warehouse and shipping departments with pulling, packing, stocking and receiving.
  • Operate machinery and equipment while adhering to safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection, steel-toed boots, safety hat, high visibility safety apparel, and gloves- Cut level 3 (A3).
  • Maintain punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Participate in fostering an organizational culture that values innovation, promotes inclusion, and inspires excellence in the work environment.
  • Protect and maintain confidentiality of company trade secrets and other confidential and proprietary information including, without limitation, pricing information and sales data.
  • Complete projects and assignments on time.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other team members.
  • Support a culture of collaboration and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or department management.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of a high school diploma.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience within the construction supply/distribution industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of tool manufacturers and the products they supply.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • General knowledge of office equipment such as a photocopier, printer, and scanner.
  • Must obtain an OSHA 10.
  • Must be certified by the company to operate all MHE.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Prior experience using NetSuite.
  • Prior experience in Ecommerce or shipping/receiving both freight and ground.

Salary: $20.00 - $23.33 per hour
