Job description

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the administrative, accounting, and tax management of four companies based in Chicago, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international accounting principles. The role requires constant oversight of warehouse accounting transactions and accurate financial reporting management.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintain general accounting records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Supervise the accounts receivable and payable cycles, account reconciliation, and monthly and annual closing processes.
  • Prepare annual financial statements.
  • Monitor monthly warehouse transactions, ensuring accurate accounting of inflows, outflows, and valuations.
  • Analyze discrepancies between accounting records and physical inventory, working with operational teams to resolve any anomalies.
  • Support warehouse cost management and inventory valuation.
  • Ensure proper application of local tax regulations, including VAT, sales tax, and income tax management.
  • Coordinate tax filings and collaborate with external consultants to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of accounting closures.
  • Prepare financial reports for management, providing detailed analyses of financial performance.

  • Maintain relationships with accountants and external consultants.
  • Oversee administrative activities, including the management of accounting and contractual documentation.
  • Support the management of regulatory and administrative obligations for the company.


Requirements:


  • Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting and administrative role, preferably in international settings or multi-entity companies.
  • Experience with US GAAP and IFRS. And strong accounting knowledge
  • Experience in warehouse accounting transactions
