Job Summary

This position is for a Nuclear Station Leader who is responsible for the Operations department and all operational aspects at the facility. This includes conduct of all licensed and non-licensed operator activities in support of the company's power generation goals as well as providing operational support for maintenance activities including refueling outages. Additionally, the Operations Director is responsible for all aspects of the station's chemistry control program.
Vistra nuclear sites include Comanche Peak (Glen Rose, TX); Beaver Valley (Shippingport, PA), Davis-Besse (Oak Harbor, OH) & Perry (Perry, OH).
*Location will be based at one of Vistra's four nuclear sites*

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Maximizes power generation and changes in station operational modes
  • Ensures that the facility is operated in a safe, reliable and efficient manner, consistent with regulatory and administrative requirements as well as with applicable codes and standards.
  • Ensures a sufficient number of trained and licensed personnel are available to operate the station in accordance with requirements.
  • Sponsors and supports initiatives/goals for top decile performance when compared with others in the INPO/WANO metrics
  • Development and monitoring of Operations Department budgets.
  • Establish Departmental goals and objectives in support of the Station's Long Range Business plan and ensure associated activities are completed within the assumptions of the approved budget

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

  • Current or previous SRO License or SRO Certification
  • Eight years power plant experience
  • Four years of supervisory/management experience
  • Knowledgeable in legal and personnel aspects of Labor Relations
