Position Summary Walsh University is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions. The Assistant Director of Admissions plays a key role in achieving the university's enrollment goals. This position manages a recruitment territory, develops relationships with students, families, high school counselors, and community partners, and assists with the planning and execution of admissions events. The Assistant Director serves as a leader within the admissions team and helps support strategic enrollment initiatives that advance the university's mission and growth objectives.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist the Director of Admissions with team territory management.
- Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned population, including travel activities and developing an inquiry pool, conversion of inquiry to applicant, applicant to admit, and admit to enrollment.
- Conduct interviews with prospective students and family members who visit campus.
- Establish relationships with high school guidance counselors and other groups by hosting regional and on-campus visits.
- Plan and execute approximately 8 to 10 weeks of recruitment travel in an assigned territory through visiting high schools, college fairs and other outreach events.
- Responsible for attending all on-campus and virtual recruitment events throughout the year, including:
- Open Houses
- Accepted Student Days
- Visit Programs
- Group Visits
- Virtual Events
- Yield Activities
- Represent the admissions office during evening and weekend recruitment programs as needed.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to enhance the prospective student experience.
- Maintain record comments and applicant progress in the university's CRM software system.
- Provide accurate and timely guidance to prospective students and families regarding financial aid options, scholarship opportunities, FAFSA requirements, and the overall affordability of a Walsh University education.
- Support the Director of Admissions with reporting and data review to help drive recruitment initiatives.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for admissions counselors and student ambassadors.
- Assist with training new admissions staff and student workers.
- Work with the Director of Operations and Marketing Office on the recruitment communication plan and marketing programs.
- Manage selected student recruitment programs and special projects as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions or Vice President of Enrollment Management
- Supervisory responsibility of student employees
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Must demonstrate an understanding the Walsh University Statement of Faith and a commitment to support the Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University in accordance with Ex Corde Ecclesiae and the Catholic intellectual tradition. Must also possess the following:
Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
Work Experience: - Two to five years of admissions, enrollment management, higher education, sales, marketing, or related experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success in relationship-building, recruitment, or customer service.
Skills and abilities: - Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
- Strong creativity, organization, and planning skills
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours including some nights and weekends
- Ability to analyze data and make informed recruitment decisions.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and enrollment technologies.
- Ability to travel extensively during recruitment seasons.
- Ability to work with others, as well as work independently
- Ability to interact and communicate with members of the University and others as necessary
