Job description

Position Summary...Join the Walmart Global Marketplace legal team as a Senior Counsel. Walmart Marketplace is a high-growth, strategic eCommerce business that enables third-party sellers to seamlessly reach Walmart’s massive global customer base and dramatically expand assortment while delivering a best-in-class shopping experience. This role reports to the Chief Counsel & VP for Global Marketplace and supports business teams across multiple regions. This role requires a dynamic and business-oriented attorney with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The successful candidate will provide practical legal advice on a wide range of matters including contracts, country expansion, strategic initiatives, and third-party seller relationships across jurisdictions.What you'll do...
• Provide frontline legal support and strategic counsel on strategic initiatives, online and offline contract structures, and other complex and novel legal issues arising from the third-party seller business. 
• Support business teams across Asia, Europe, the Americas and more, by partnering with internal in-country teams and with external firms where we don’t have local legal teams. 
• Address corporate and entity-related matters supporting international operations. 
• Lead or support multi-jurisdictional projects, including cross-border data transfers, technology initiatives, and compliance efforts. 
• Partner with internal stakeholders (IP, tax, antitrust, privacy) to assess and manage legal risk. 
What you’ll bring...
• 6+ years of legal practice experience, including at least 4 years practicing at a major US or European law firm or within the in-house legal department of a multinational corporation. 
• Strong background in international transactional or corporate law. 
• Experience managing complex legal matters across multiple jurisdictions (Europe, Asia, or Latin America preferred) coordinating with multiple contributors. 
• Excellent judgment, drafting skills, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment without a predefined playbook. 
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state. 
• Flexibility to work across global time zones and travel as needed. 
Extra marks if you have... 
• Experience supporting international entities or expansions. 
• Experience in eCommerce, retail, or marketplace businesses. 
• Familiarity with IP, privacy, product compliance, trade, or consumer protection laws. 
• Proficiency in Mandarin or Spanish.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
