Position Summary...What you'll do...Role summary:
The (USA) Specialist, Legal plays a critical role in managing complex reporting requests, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting legal matter preparation. This position involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to retrieve and review documents, administer legal systems, and uphold compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The role requires strong communication and analytical skills to provide expert guidance, improve processes, and support business solutions. The Specialist contributes to maintaining integrity and ethical standards while fostering effective relationships across teams to support organizational goals and legal operations.
About the team:
The Central Intake and Legal Holds Team manages the intake, processing, and assignment of various legal documents. This team plays a critical role in preserving information relevant to litigation by drafting, issuing, and maintaining legal hold notices. Collaborating closely with key stakeholders, the team supports preservation projects to ensure compliance and accuracy. Members utilize strong communication, document review, and process improvement skills to maintain efficient workflows and uphold legal standards. Their efforts contribute significantly to the organization’s ability to manage legal matters effectively and support overall business objectives.
What you'll do:
  • Review legal complaints and demands, identifying relevant information and key individuals
  • Draft and send legal hold notices, updating the notices as new information becomes available and ensuring timely release when the matter is closed
  • Become familiar with Walmart systems and processes, adopting new tools as they become available, and looking to improve efficiency of current processes
  • Support intake operations, reviewing and directing communications and queries
  • Appropriately respond to questions and concerns addressed to the Legal Holds team or regarding preservation processes

  • Comfort with technology and data
  • Ability to leverage tools to improve processes.     
  • Knowledge of legal pleadings and documents, legal preservation requirements, general practice areas of litigation.
  • Excellent judgment and knowing when to elevate issues to leadership.
  • Conscientiousness in maintaining security and confidentiality of sensitive information, data and communications.
  • Experience in drafting, proofreading and updating reports and memoranda.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
