Position Summary...The Manager, Compensation Partner serves as a strategic advisor to Walmart U.S. Merchandising and eCommerce leadership, responsible for designing, analyzing, and executing competitive compensation programs that directly support business outcomes. This role moves beyond administrative compensation cycles to deliver data-driven, market-informed reward strategies that attract, retain, and motivate top retail and digital talent. The Manager partners closely with People, Finance, and Legal leaders to ensure compensation solutions are market-competitive, fiscally responsible, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Join the Compensation Partners team within Walmart’s Total Rewards organization, a high-performing group that supports the Walmart U.S. enterprise. As embedded business partners, the team collaborates closely with People Business Partners and business leaders to align enterprise compensation philosophy with business-specific needs. Strategic Business Partnership
• Build deep relationships with senior leaders to understand business strategies and talent priorities.
• Act as a trusted advisor and challenger partner, using data and business logic to influence compensation and talent investment decisions.
Compensation Strategy & Program Design
• Design, develop, and implement compensation programs and incentives aligned with business needs, global guidelines, and pay-for-performance principles.
• Support leadership in structuring rewards solutions that drive attraction, retention, and engagement in a high-growth retail and digital environment.
Market Benchmarking & Job Architecture
• Lead job evaluation, benchmarking, and market pricing activities, particularly for roles at the intersection of retail, merchandising, and technology.
• Manage relationships with external survey providers and ensure accurate, competitive market insights.
Financial & Data Analysis
• Conduct advanced compensation modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of pay decisions.
• Translate complex analytics and market intelligence into clear executive narratives and recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with Finance, Legal, People, and external vendors to ensure programs are consistent, compliant, and fiscally sustainable.
• Balance business-unit customization with enterprise frameworks and governance.
Communication & Enablement
• Develop and deliver executive presentations, training materials, and compensation communications.
• Educate leaders and stakeholders on compensation philosophy, programs, and decision-making frameworks.
Compliance & Governance
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement in internal equity, pay practices, and process excellence.

 
What You’ll Bring
• 3–6+ years of progressive experience in compensation, total rewards, or human capital advisory roles.
• Proven experience designing, executing, and evaluating compensation programs aligned with business strategy.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (advanced Excel required; Tableau/Power BI preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders with clear, data-driven recommendations.
• Deep knowledge of compensation benchmarking, salary surveys, and job valuation in both global and local contexts.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with executive presence.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business-related field (Finance, Economics, HR, etc.); MBA or advanced degree preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
