Position Summary...The Senior Director, Sales Analytics & Tools is a strategic leader responsible for building and scaling the data visualization, analytic, and tooling capabilities that power Walmart Connect’s Sales organization. This highly visible role will lead three business-critical domains: Sales Data Science, Sales Tooling, and Sales Automation. This leader will drive the strategy and implementation of internal tools—including the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of our CRM platform—ensuring our sales teams have best-in-class systems to manage relationships, track pipeline, and close business. Additionally, this role will champion and lead automation initiatives that streamline sales workflows, reduce manual effort, and accelerate revenue generation.

Internal Tools Strategy & CRM Ownership  
  • Lead the end-to-end strategy, design, implementation, and maintenance of internal sales tools, with a primary focus on our CRM platform.  
  • Define the CRM roadmap in partnership with Sales, Revenue Operations, Marketing, Product and Engineering to ensure the platform evolves with business needs.  
  • Oversee CRM data integrity, user adoption, workflow configuration, and integration with downstream analytics and reporting systems.  
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new tooling solutions that enhance sales productivity and provide a competitive advantage.  
  • Establish governance frameworks for tool usage, data entry standards, and system hygiene across the sales organization.  
Sales Automation  
  • Design and lead automation strategies that reduce friction in sales processes—from lead routing and opportunity management to reporting and forecasting workflows.  
  • Identify high-impact automation opportunities across the sales lifecycle and partner with Engineering and Product to deliver scalable solutions.  
  • Champion the adoption of AI-powered tools and intelligent automation to help sales teams work smarter, not harder.  
  • Measure and report on automation ROI, continuously iterating to maximize efficiency gains.  
Data Science & Analytics  
  • Direct and empower the team to analyze critical data sets that drive the development of new capabilities, enable innovative functionalities, and resolve business-critical issues with strategic impact.  
  • Own and improve sales forecasting and planning. Lead a team that creates new data models and algorithms to help us better understand where our business is heading, drive growth, and give our sales team the tools to be proactive.  
  • Collect and analyze large datasets from various sources, ensuring the data is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date.  
  • Transform complex data into easy-to-understand formats—dashboards, reports, and visualizations—that provide actionable insights for end users. Leverage advanced data analytics tools and techniques to identify key trends, patterns, and opportunities that drive sales performance and strategic decision-making.  
  • Adopt and enforce data governance standards and guidelines to drive information consistency.  
 
Collaboration 
  • Partner with functional leadership and other cross-functional leaders across the organization to develop consultative solutions. 
  • Ensure buy-in for recommendations and alignment on data analysis strategies. 
  • Maintain existing relationships and develop new relationships with external business partners and vendors.

  • Drive continuous development through coaching, mentoring, and targeted learning to build high-performing teams.

Basic Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.  
  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, sales operations, or technology roles (preferably at a large organization in a highly cross-functional capacity).  
  • 7+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers and senior individual contributors.  
  • Demonstrated experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) including design, administration, or strategic ownership.  
  • Experience leading or sponsoring sales automation or process improvement initiatives.  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft tools and systems.  
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple domains.  
 
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Deep expertise with Salesforce, including configuration, reporting, and ecosystem integrations.  
  • Experience with Tableau, Looker, or other enterprise dashboard/data visualization platforms.  
  • Hands-on familiarity with automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce Flow, Zapier, UiPath, or custom-built automation).  
  • Experience with AI tools and emerging automation technologies (e.g., LLMs, copilots, intelligent agents).  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Experience working in and across large cross-functional organizations.  
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence at VP+ levels.
