Company Overview:
Improve Your Tomorrow (IYT) was founded in 2013 with the mission to increase the number of young men of color (YMOC) to attend and graduate from colleges and universities. We envision a world where men of color are overrepresented in higher education, underrepresented in the criminal justice system, and leaders in their communities. By embodying our core values of Character, Service, Teamwork, and Liberation we work to combat academic inequities and build a college-to-community pipeline.


Position Overview:

The Social Entrepreneurship Intern (SEI) will work with IYTโ€™s Co-Founder and CEO to develop and execute the CEOโ€™s priorities, including but not limited to designing programs, executing the strategic plan, and supporting the Capital Campaigns. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social entrepreneurship and business development while working on impactful projects to advance IYTโ€™s mission.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating new school partnerships.

  • Designing, executing, and scaling new programs.

  • Implementing and executing the strategic plan and participating in senior leadership discussions.

  • Conducting market research.

  • Networking with potential partners.

  • Raising funds.

  • Managing projects.

  • Additional duties as assigned

Pay Rate:

  • $16.90 per hour


Internship Timeline:

  • Duration: 2 weeks from the start date.


Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.

  • 20 hours per week.

  • Some weekends, evenings, and organization-wide events may be required.ย

  • Sacramento National HQ

Education:

  • High School or GED equivalent is required.

  • Undergraduate student in business, social entrepreneurship, or a related field is preferred


Experience:

  • Strong interest in social entrepreneurship.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong research and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
