The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.

Holman has an outstanding opportunity for a Platform Controller to join the team in Raleigh, North Carolina!

What will you do?

  • Lead the Dealership Accounting function for your assigned Platform

  • Supervise the Dealership Controllers and Assistant Controllers, including acting as a liaison for initiatives and communications. Act as a resource for questions or assistance as needed

  • Develop high-performing financial leaders by actively managing and empowering them

  • Partner closely with the Vice President - Sales Operations (VPSO) within your region, including driving support for initiatives and acting on projects or requests received

  • Execute on financial questions and tasks that arise from the Regional Aftersales Director (RAD) within your region

  • Execute on financial questions and tasks that arise with any other Central Service Team members within your region

  • Review and follow up with dealerships on Internal Audits of the dealerships, ensuring the dealerships have thorough and achievable action plans implemented for findings

  • Build relationships with the General Managers and Department Managers within your region

  • Analyze and review performance results with regional leadership and dealership management using a variety of reports

  • Analyze complex pay plans and work with Central Service Teams on standardization

  • Ensure consistency in accounting among all platforms, resulting in reliable financial data

  • Provide support for and detailed review of the dealership annual plans, reforecasts and other budgeting items

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis for VPSOs, RADs, Regional Controller, Director - Accounting Operations, VP Finance and other senior leadership

  • Partner with Accounting Leadership team including Central Accounting, FP&A, Accounting Operations and other Platform Controller(s)

  • Coordinate and manage the checklist for acquisitions or dispositions, open points, dealership moves or other activity requiring collaboration across various departments

  • Travel to each local dealership at least once a month, and, if supporting out of state dealerships, travel to those at least once a quarter. Additional travel may be needed based on the needs of the business

  • The position is located in a major market within the applicable region

  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred but not required

  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • 7+ years' accounting experience, including 3+ at a leadership level in a dealership; experience with multiple brands or General Managers preferred

  • Extensive knowledge and experience within accounting and general knowledge of dealership operations and central service departments

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Effectively coaches, gives performance feedback and provides development opportunities within related multiple areas or departments and/or function(s)

  • Inspires teams' success by creating the right working climate and team culture

Total Target Compensation: $185,000 - $221,000/annually

Regular Full-Time

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $142,670.00 - $221,140.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay and bonus earnings.
