Job description

About the Opportunity

JETSET Pilates South Charlotte is seeking a VP of Operations to lead presale, oversee studio operations, and drive membership growth across three new studios (Matthews Station, Waverly, and a third South Charlotte location) opening starting early Q1 2027.

This role is structured in two phases. You start as General Manager of the first studio, running it from presale through grand opening and ramp-up, while a GM is hired for the second studio and you help guide that person. As the third studio launches, you step fully into the VP of Operations role, overseeing all three GMs and studios. A new GM is then brought on to take over your original studio.

This is not a passive management role. It is a hands-on leadership position that requires strong sales ability, marketing initiative, operational discipline, and community presence, with a defined path to overseeing a multi-studio market.

Key Responsibilities

Presale & Membership Growth

  • Lead and execute presale strategy to build foundational membership prior to opening
  • Capture, nurture, and close incoming leads
  • Develop partnerships with local wellness, retail, and community organizations
  • Organize and execute community outreach events and on-the-mat pop-ups
  • Achieve membership, revenue, and utilization targets
  • Track and analyze KPIs, including sales conversion, retention, and revenue

Leadership & Team Management

  • Recruit, hire, and onboard instructors and studio team members
  • Build a positive, high-accountability team culture
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Ensure staff understand expectations around service, energy, and professionalism
  • Lead by example in work ethic, urgency, and ownership
  • As the role grows into VP of Operations, coach and develop the GMs at each studio and hold them to consistent standards across the market

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily studio operations, including scheduling, payroll, reporting, and inventory
  • Maintain brand standards and studio presentation at all times
  • Be present during peak class times to provide leadership and support
  • Manage expenses and operate within budget
  • Ensure consistent communication regarding performance metrics
  • Build and maintain the standard operating procedures that keep quality consistent as the market grows to three studios

Teaching & Studio Support

  • Complete JETSET instructor training
  • Teach approximately 4 to 6 classes per month (or as needed)
  • Be capable of stepping in to cover classes when necessary
  • Maintain understanding of programming and instructor performance standards

New Studio Openings & Growth

  • Lead operational execution for each new studio opening in South Charlotte, from hiring and training to presales readiness and launch preparation
  • Support each studio through opening and stabilization
  • Partner directly with the owner, who sets the vision, while you make it happen on the ground

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Sales Leadership: Proven ability to drive revenue and close memberships
  • Community Builder: Comfortable representing the brand and building local relationships in South Charlotte, or able to build that network quickly
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of KPIs and financial accountability
  • Operational Discipline: Organized, systems-oriented, and detail-driven
  • Self-starter: Thrives in a startup-style, ground-floor environment
  • People Leadership: Track record managing and developing GMs or other location-level leaders

Qualifications

  • Experience managing a fitness studio or club, ideally in a boutique environment
  • Proven success in membership sales or revenue-driven roles
  • Experience with presale or new studio openings is strongly preferred
  • MindBody experience is a strong plus
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during the presale and launch phase
  • CPR/AED certification required (or willingness to obtain)

Desired Traits

  • Competitive and performance-driven
  • Strong communicator with leadership presence
  • High-energy and hands-on mindset
  • Comfortable taking ownership of results
  • Mature, experienced, and approachable
  • A trusted, well-connected presence in the South Charlotte community

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 annually
  • Bonus: Presale bonus tied to hitting membership targets ahead of each studio's grand opening, plus an ongoing performance bonus tied to membership growth and retention (with a meaningful bonus once a studio crosses key thresholds)
  • Hours: 40+ hours per week (extended during presale and launch phases)
  • Growth Opportunity: Full step into the VP of Operations role as the third studio launches, with oversight of all three South Charlotte studios and their GMs

What Success Looks Like

The VP of Operations builds strong foundational membership during presale, establishes meaningful community partnerships, launches each studio with momentum, and drives consistent growth in revenue and utilization while maintaining a premium boutique experience. Along the way, this person earns the trust to take on full oversight of the South Charlotte market, mentors the GM who follows them, and builds the culture and systems that carry across all three studios.
