Job description

The Senior Director of Scientific Affairs oversees scientific opportunities related to -research projects at Azimuth Research Group. The Senior Director, Scientific Affairs will actively support scientific leadership as well as scientific business development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

Actively coordinates with the Senior Vice President, Scientific Affairs on strategic scientific development planning and specific opportunities.

Provides oversight for project work and relevant methods and management issues. Maintains high external visibility as recognized leader in research and key data asset knowledge.

Responsible for quantitative and qualitative programming and analytics, independently assisting with interpreting results, and overseeing other project staff in completion of related deliverables.

Responsible for scientific business development under the guidance of the Senior Vice President, Scientific Affairs

Travel is expected approximately 5-10% of the time with some international travel.

Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of available real world data utilized in the pharmaceutical industry, academic setting, or government research communities. Experience working in US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), US Department of Defense (DoD), or US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), a plus.

Deep understanding of research principles in given practice area and familiarity with key aspects of the pharmaceutical industry and their use of real world data and real world evidence.

Advanced level understanding of relevant methodology and statistics

Ability to build and implement statistical programs is a strong preference

Extensive knowledge of practical research implementation

Excels in handling client relations and may bring in new areas of business

Excellent communication skills including client-ready presentations

Education and Experience

PhD with greater than five years of experience; or Masters with greater than 10 years of experience.

Language Skills

Competent in written and spoken English.

Computer Skills

MS Word, PPT, Excel; and familiarity with data analysis software (Python, SAS, SPSS, R, or other relevant programming skills).
