Summary of Position

This job operates in a professional office environment. Performs additional job duties as a Mortgage and Consumer
Lender. Reports directly to the Assistant Vice President, Retail and Sales and the Chief Lending Officer. Provides
prompt and courteous service to external and internal clients. Expands existing business relationships and develops
new business. Exercises administrative control over all functions of the branch, including implementation of
policies, procedures, and Bank objectives. Maintains confidentiality of Bank's customers and processes while
adhering to Information Security standards.


Essential Functions

  • Supervises branch employees and assumes subordinate duties when necessary.

    • Conducts Customer Service Representative and Universal Banker training.

    • Motivates employees, sets expectations, monitors delegated activities, disciplines, and appraises performance and makes recommendations in response.

    • Achievement of retail sales goals both on the individual level and branch level.



  • Ensures adequate staffing for efficient branch operation, including Saturday scheduling.

  • Develops new business and expands existing business with the sale of deposit and lending products; prospects for new business through community and service activities and functions.

    • Makes effective referrals to other specialists when appropriate.



  • Provides excellent external and internal customer service.

    • Advises and resolves any issues that arise with customers, wherever possible.

    • Opens new accounts.

    • Processes the closure and distribution of estate assets.



  • Monitors branch activity (number of transactions, volume, teller errors, loan volume, teller and loan personal sales and new accounts).

    • Monitors and maintains the Safe Deposit system.



  • Ensures proper branch safety, security, and compliance procedures are followed.

    • Opening and closing procedures, (i.e., alarms, vault, balance ATMโ€™s, night deposits, etc.) and end of day balancing of branch.

    • Performs and maintains Regulation D compliance.

    • Maintains the compliance of the branch per audit standards and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.



  • Makes recommendations to supervisors on budgetary/staff/internal needs of the branch.

  • Fulfills the duties and responsibilities of a Mortgage and Consumer Lender.

    • Markets and promotes a full range of bank financial products to current and prospective customers based on the productโ€™s ability to satisfy the customerโ€™s individual needs




Critical Drivers and Accountabilities

Maintains full regulatory compliance with applicable rules and regulations in addition to internal policies. Ability to identify potential money laundering, terrorist financing, bank secrecy act, identity theft, and elderly abuse red flags. Exceeds Bank deposit and lending goals by seeking new financial relationships with prospects and current clients either through face-to-face interactions, referrals, or outbound visits. Coaches and trains all branch staff in the roles of sales and referrals to enhance client experiences with the Bank; maintains knowledgeable and customer service driven staff that exceedingly perform all duties required for the branch to surpass expectations while remaining compliant, and a strong sense of organization, accuracy, and efficiency. Practices an enterprise-wide work ethic of collaboration and teamwork; effectively leads through ambiguity and change. Ability to interact effectively and respectfully with internal and external customers in person and on the telephone.


Competencies

Ability to maintain business acumen, business flow and operations, and ethical conduct while performing a high level of customer/client focus in addition to proficiency in the Customer Service Representative duties and responsibilities. Also, in absence of the Assistant Vice President of Retail and Sales, have working knowledge of the their responsibilities. Superior communication skills, both oral and written to both employees and leaders within the bank and all its customers.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.


Education, Experience, and Skills

Required: High school diploma or equivalent; three to five years' experience in retail banking; experience with professional communications vocally and through written format; knowledgeable of duties performed at the branch level, including lending, new accounts, deposit products and services, and sales; practical experience with basic hardware and software.


Preferred: Associates degree or higher in a related field; one to three years' experience in management; qualified experience in sales, comprising face to face, phone, and outbound calls.


Physical Requirements

Sufficient stamina to sit and read a computer screen or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion with wrists, hands, and/or fingers and otherwise perform the essential functions of the position. While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. Mobility to move throughout the branch. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
