Shape the Financial Future of One of the Nation's Largest Community Health Organizations
Legacy Community Health is seeking a strategic, mission-driven finance executive to serve as our next Vice President, Strategic Finance.
This is a unique opportunity for a finance leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, treasury, capital planning, enterprise risk management, and organizational growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy & Financial Officer, the VP, Strategic Finance will play a critical role in strengthening Legacy's financial sustainability while helping shape the long-term future of the organization.

The role offers an uncommon opportunity to help design the future state of the finance organization while contributing to initiatives that directly improve healthcare access across our communities.
About Legacy Community Health
Legacy Community Health is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center and is committed to driving healthy change in our communities. As one of the largest community health organizations in the United States, Legacy provides comprehensive care regardless of a patient's ability to pay and serves hundreds of thousands of individuals across the Greater Houston region.
Our mission attracts leaders who want to combine professional excellence with meaningful community impact.
The Opportunity
The VP, Strategic Finance will serve as a key member of the finance leadership team and trusted advisor to executive leadership. This leader will help advance the organization's long-term financial strength, resilience, and sustainability through leadership across:
  • Treasury and capital strategy
  • Enterprise risk management
  • Commercial insurance strategy
  • Financial planning and analysis
  • Capital allocation
  • Strategic transactions and partnerships
  • Financial performance optimization
  • Enterprise decision support and executive analytics
This individual will help evaluate strategic growth opportunities, develop financial and risk frameworks, and ensure resources are aligned to organizational priorities.
Over time, the position may assume leadership of additional finance functions, including FP&A and cash management, providing the opportunity to build and shape a broader strategic finance organization.
What Success Looks Like
The successful candidate will:
  • Develop and execute treasury and liquidity strategies that support organizational growth.
  • Lead capital planning, financing, and banking relationship management.
  • Establish enterprise risk management capabilities and governance structures.
  • Partner closely with executive leaders to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Build performance management frameworks that improve accountability and transparency.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, and strategic partnerships through financial modeling, due diligence, and integration planning.
  • Influence enterprise strategy through insightful financial analysis and executive-level communication.
  • Help develop the next generation of finance capabilities for Legacy.
The Ideal Candidate
We recognize that exceptional candidates may come from different backgrounds.
You may be a treasury leader who expanded into strategic finance, a corporate finance executive with enterprise risk responsibilities, or a finance executive who has successfully operated across multiple disciplines.
We are particularly interested in leaders who bring a blend of:
  • Treasury leadership
  • Strategic finance
  • Enterprise risk management
  • Capital markets and debt financing
  • Liquidity and cash management
  • Financial planning and analysis
  • Executive business partnership
  • Organizational leadership
  • M&A and strategic transaction experience
What We Are Looking For
  • Proven success influencing executive and senior leadership teams.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable business decisions.
  • Experience leading through ambiguity and organizational growth.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility across functions and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience across finance, treasury, risk management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience with capital markets, debt financing, treasury operations, and financial strategy.
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex, enterprise-level financial initiatives.
Preferred
  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • CPA, CFA, CTP, or related professional designation.
  • Experience supporting M&A, strategic partnerships, or corporate development initiatives.
  • Experience within healthcare, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organizations.
  • Exposure to enterprise transformation initiatives, financial systems, or operational improvement efforts.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
This role offers the chance to:
  • Report directly to the Chief Strategy & Financial Officer.
  • Influence enterprise-level strategy and resource allocation.
  • Build and shape an evolving strategic finance function.
  • Lead initiatives that directly impact organizational sustainability and growth.
  • Contribute to the long-term development of Legacy's finance leadership capabilities.
  • Apply your expertise in a mission-driven environment where your work improves access to healthcare for underserved communities.
For a finance executive seeking broader organizational impact, meaningful work, and the opportunity to help shape the future of a growing healthcare organization, this represents a rare leadership opportunity.
