About Konnect Fuel

Konnect Fuel is a fast-growing, high-volume wholesale fuel distributor. We are expanding rapidly and seeking an experienced, high-impact operator to serve as our primary operational authority, turn strategic vision into flawless daily execution, and build a scalable infrastructure for our next phase of growth.

Position Overview

As the Vice President of Fuel Operations, you will take full ownership of daily operations, dealer performance, sales team execution, site onboarding workflows, and supply logistics. You will possess high operational autonomy to make decisive, daily calls while managing risk and enforcing performance standards across our network.

This role reports directly to executive leadership for daily operational approvals and capital allocation, while collaborating closely with our President on high-level industry strategy, supplier alignment, and major dealer relationships.

Key Responsibilities1. Dealer Evaluation, Risk & Onboarding
  • Lead operational teams in evaluating new dealer offers, prospective site viability, and deal risk assessments.

  • Partner with the VP of Finance on financial risk, credit evaluations, and capital investment requirements.

  • Streamline the end-to-end onboarding workflow to ensure seamless integration and timely initial fuel delivery.

2. Dealer Compliance & Performance Management
  • Enforce strict compliance regarding contracted volume commitments, operating standards, and performance benchmarks across 50+ sites.

  • Develop tracking metrics to identify underperforming locations and execute swift remediation plans.

  • Maintain oversight across both third-party dealer accounts and internal Dak’s contracted locations.

3. Daily Operations & Infrastructure
  • Assume end-to-end accountability for wholesale fuel administration, order processing, and dispatch logistics.

  • Partner with Finance to optimize gross margins, control operational costs, and manage inventory tracking.

  • Establish robust SOPs and scalable infrastructure to expand well beyond the current 2M gallon/month baseline.

4. Sales Team & Agent Management
  • Direct and hold accountable an agent-based sales team to meet site acquisition, volume, and margin targets.

  • Align agent compensation, territories, and pipelines with overall expansion goals.

  • Ensure sales commitments align with logistical and supply capabilities.

5. Supply, Logistics & Vendor Oversight
  • Manage carrier networks, delivery schedules, rack pricing dynamics, and freight efficiency to protect operational margins.

  • Oversee administrative compliance, EPA/DOT environmental protocols, and site licensing.

Qualifications
  • Industry Experience: 7–10+ years of progressive operational leadership specifically within wholesale fuel distribution, petroleum marketing, or branded/unbranded jobber operations.

  • Proven Executive Authority: Currently operating at or near the VP level in a fast-paced, high-volume petroleum distribution environment.

  • Network Management: Demonstrated track record managing agent-based sales models, conducting dealer risk/deal assessments, and enforcing supply contract terms.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of rack pricing, fuel supply agreements, dealer financial modeling, and contract mechanics.

  • Software Expertise: Proficiency with industry-standard back-office and dispatch/logistics platforms (e.g., PDI, TMW, or similar enterprise software).

  • Regulatory Understanding: Working knowledge of EPA, DOT, and state fuel handling compliance.

  • Leadership Profile: Highly assertive, self-directed, and decisive, with the ability to enforce contract terms firmly while maintaining key business relationships.
