Job Description Purpose of the role

To develop and manage the success of specific financial products and services, providing in-depth expertise on a particular product line, bridging the gap between product development, marketing, sales, and customer service.

Accountabilities

Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance. Identification of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and, customer feedback, to support the product development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings. Response to customer inquiries, resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage. Presentation of the advantages and features of the product to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption. Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as brochures, presentations, and online content. Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders. Participation in events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.

Role Overview

Join Barclays as a VP โ€“ Payments Product Manager, where you will maximize the value of Barclays' realโ€‘time payments portfolio by defining a clear product vision, developing and prioritising the product roadmap, and delivering innovative payment solutions that support the evolving needs of Corporate Banking clients. You will be accountable for the endโ€‘toโ€‘end lifecycle management of Barclays' instant payment capabilities, including The Clearing House RTP Network and the Federal Reserve's FedNow Service. You will serve as the voice of the customer and business while working closely with Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Treasury Services, Sales, and industry stakeholder to support broader payment modernization objectives.

Key Skills and Background

To be successful as a VP โ€“ Payment Product Manager , you should have: Deep understanding of RTP, FedNow, ACH, Wire, and broader domestic payment ecosystems. Considerable knowledge of realโ€‘time payment operating models, payment processing, liquidity management, and treasury workflows. Knowledge of payment messaging standards, APIs, ISO 20022 XML, and modern payment architectures. Understanding of fraud prevention, sanctions screening, and financial crime controls within instant payment environments. Financial services experience with knowledge of Corporate Banking and Transaction Banking products. Understanding of Agile methodologies, design thinking, and product management frameworks. Excellent communication skills. Some other highly valued skills may include: Experience with RTP, FedNow, faster payments, or payment modernization programmes. Experience working with payment schemes, market infrastructures, or financial market utilities. Experience with APIs, embedded finance, digital channels, and nextโ€‘generation payment technologies. SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) certification. Project and change management expertise. Understanding of operational resiliency, thirdโ€‘party risk, and business continuity frameworks. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as jobโ€‘specific technical skills.

Location and Compensation

This role is located in New York, NY. Minimum Salary: $155,000 Maximum Salary: $200,000. The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
