Job description

Executive Vice President, Operations | $230,000–$275,000 | Onsite/Hybrid | Direct Hire
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Job Description
Take the lead in shaping operational performance for a growing industrial construction organization. As Executive Vice President, you will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO while driving disciplined execution across the full project lifecycle—from business development and estimating through engineering, procurement, fabrication, project management, and field construction.
This is a hands-on executive opportunity for an industrial construction leader who knows how to improve profitability, manage project risk, strengthen accountability, and keep complex projects moving. You'll have significant influence over company strategy and operations while remaining close enough to the work to make an immediate impact.
Your New Employer
Join a specialized, Nebraska-based industrial contractor with deep expertise in energy infrastructure and complex mechanical construction. The organization delivers engineering, procurement, fabrication, project management, and construction services for industrial facilities and energy-product logistics.
You'll join an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment where senior leaders are expected to make decisions, challenge assumptions, and work directly with both office and field teams. This is a high-impact opportunity to partner closely with ownership and help shape the company's next phase of operational growth.
What You Will Do
  • Lead company-wide operational execution and align estimating, engineering, procurement, fabrication, project management, and construction.
  • Oversee project performance, including profitability, forecasting, schedules, staffing, quality, safety, and client outcomes.
  • Drive disciplined estimate reviews, contract risk management, change orders, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team on strategy, organizational priorities, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen accountability, operating visibility, execution consistency, and profitability across the business.
What You Need
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within industrial construction, EPC, or a closely related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical construction, including piping, process equipment, fabrication, and field execution.
  • Proven ownership of project profitability, forecasting, risk, contracts, change management, schedules, and client relationships.
  • Experience leading across project management, field operations, and multiple supporting functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Your Benefits
  • Discretionary company-performance bonus opportunity.
  • Health care benefits and paid time off.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Relocation assistance may be available.
  • Executive-level opportunity with broad influence over strategy, operations, and organizational growth.
