Job description

Position Summary
The Vice President, Finance provides leadership for the Finance function and team, reporting to the SVP of Finance at a regulated financial institution. This role strengthens financial planning, analysis, profitability, forecasting, reporting, and strategic finance capabilities, and partners with leadership, lines of business, auditors, and examiners to translate complex financial information into actionable insights that support strategic objectives, financial sustainability, and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for the Finance team, including setting priorities, coaching direct reports, and supporting professional development.
  • Provide financial leadership and analytical direction supporting organizational goals and informed decision-making.
  • Support annual budgets, forecasts, long-range financial plans, financial modeling, scenario analysis, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Prepare and present clear financial insights, analyses, and recommendations for leadership and business partners.
  • Review and validate financial models, reports, dashboards, and decision-support tools to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Monitor performance indicators, profitability measures, and financial trends, while strengthening scalable finance processes.
  • Document, implement, and monitor finance-related policies, procedures, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with examiners and external auditors, and maintain awareness of regulatory requirements affecting Finance.
  • Support change management, cross-functional projects, and special initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance, FP&A, profitability analysis, budgeting, or forecasting.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and recommend practical actions.
  • Experience developing and reviewing financial models, forecasts, and decision-support tools.
  • Strong command of Excel, PowerPoint, and financial reporting or analytical systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, including team supervision and performance management.
  • Experience within a financial institution or other highly regulated financial services environment, including exposure to asset/liability management or liquidity analysis.
  • Experience developing executive-ready financial presentations and dashboards.
