Responsibilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Champion the Mastec beliefs
  • Support cross-divisional acquisition of new pursuits, and all pre-construction activities from initial client introductions, estimate strategy and development through final executive reviews
  • Responsible for the effective hiring, training, mentoring, rewarding, retaining, disciplining, appraising performance of team members
  • Plan, assign, and direct work, addressing complaints and resolving problems Lead, promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
  • Hold project teams accountable to project and divisional goals with a focus on safety, quality, planning, forecasting and executional excellence
  • Participate in the development the strategic plan for the business unit and ensure its communication and implementation
  • Achieve client satisfaction goals as put forth in the strategic plan
  • Responsible for overall relationship with owners, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Confer with Safety Director on any jobsite safety issues
  • Maintain positive working relationships between field operations and shared services
  • Review and approve requests for payment and change orders per the Authority Matrix.
  • Provide guidance to site team on resolution of conflicts such as; failure of subcontractors to perform, failure of materials to arrive, contract disputes, and trade conflicts
  • Interface with all staff to maintain an open line of communication and reporting, monitor job progress, schedules and subcontractor performance, and coordinate the operation of the field through management of field personnel
  • Manage and supervise the teams who direct Project Managers and Field Superintendents by giving ongoing performance feedback and conducting annual performance appraisals in a timely manner
  • Correlate team member’s new ideas and help in implementing new policies and procedures
  • Confer with VP of Operations/EVP and other Sr. Management personnel on business planning, continuity and succession planning
  • Serve as member of the Executive team, attending executive staff meetings and contributing to the overall success of the organization
  • Attend trade shows and conferences
  • Other duties as requested by the EVP/President
SUPERVISORY
  • Must be able to direct, manage, lead and mentor 5-10 direct employees
  • Must hold project teams accountable in all aspects of project delivery
  • Ensure field operations personnel receive his/her annual performance review
Qualifications EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 15 years of construction Industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires prolonged sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

HOURS: This position is a standard full-time position, with general business 40-hour operating schedule, Monday-Friday.

TRAVEL: Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time. Additional travel may be warranted at certain times as the business requires.
