Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates, which operate non-profit health centers across the U.S. PPFA also works to educate the public on and advocate for issues of sexual and reproductive health. Formed as the advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Planned Parenthood Action Fund is a separate non-profit membership organization tax-exempt under section 501(c)(4). The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and limited electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education in furtherance of the Planned Parenthood mission. 
 
 
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (Action Fund) seek a dynamic and innovative Vice President, Data Strategy, Analytics and Insights. This job reports to the Chief Operating Officer in the Operations Org Unit.
Purpose:
  • The Vice President, Data Strategy, Analytics and Insights, leads a unified, enterprise-wide data strategy for the National Office, grounded in health equity, trust, and collaboration. The work is done in partnership with the Vice President of Technology Strategy and CIO organization, ensuring strong standards for data quality, privacy, security, compliance, and ethical use, and that data governance and accessibility are embedded into scalable data and AI solutions that support transformative business decision-making.
  • The Vice President also collaborates on the selection and adoption of tools for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, and for data visualization. As a senior organizational leader, the Vice President champions the responsible use of data, analytics, and ensures that data is treated as a strategic asset-dramatically expanding access to high-quality data, actionable insights, and compelling storytelling to drive decision-making, policy development, and organizational impact.
Engagement:
  • The Vice President leads the development and execution of a multi-year data and analytics roadmap that expands, deepens, and integrates Planned Parenthood's use of internal and external data. This roadmap balances near-term impact with long-term capability building and ensures the ethical, equitable, and compliant use of data across the enterprise. Leading a distributed, multidisciplinary team spanning advanced analytics, reporting, data science, and insights, the Vice President sets clear strategic direction and fosters a culture focused on turning data into action. Through deep partnership across the National Office and Federation, the Vice President is a trusted advisor to senior leaders-aligning analytic priorities to business needs, challenging assumptions, and elevating the role of data in strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Influence and challenge stakeholders across the Federation-including affiliate executives, PPFA executives, and department leaders-to actively use insights and shape the data strategy
  • Maintain a strong executive presence through clear, persuasive presentations and written deliverables (e.g., reports, analyses, and decks)
  • Take ownership of high-priority, enterprise-level data questions and strategic analyses
  • Excel at cross-functional collaboration, translating diverse business needs into analytic solutions
  • Represent Planned Parenthood in external forums, professional conferences, and advisory groups
  • Build and sustain internal and external partnerships that advance the organization's analytic capabilities and mission
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing analytics and insights team while contributing thought leadership to broader organizational strategy
Delivery:
  • Establish, communicate, and execute a new, clear vision and actionable roadmap for enterprise reporting, analytics, and data-driven storytelling
  • Expand the impact of PPFA data by developing intuitive dashboards and accessible analytic products that support decision-making
  • Develop and integrate AI and machine learning to improve the efficiency and accuracy of data processing and insight generation
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders by assessing data readiness, identifying applications for l data, and informing program priorities
  • Evaluate program performance and drive continuous improvement through rigorous analytic reasoning
  • Oversee and evolve the organization's reporting and insights portfolio to ensure relevance, timeliness, and impact
  • Partner with IT and data engineering teams to maintain a secure, scalable, and efficient data infrastructure
  • Set enterprise standards and strategic direction for analytics and insights; guide staff, affiliates, consultants, and partners to ensure alignment with Federation goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or higher preferred in a field relevant to data strategy, healthcare, public health, or analytics
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in data strategy, analytics, reporting, healthcare analysis, business intelligence, or related fields required
  • Minimum of 5 years senior leadership experience managing seasoned analytics and data professionals in a distributed or remote environment required
  • Demonstrated expertise in impact measurement, decision support, and data storytelling for executive audiences
  • Strong understanding of integrated data ecosystems (e.g., data warehouses/lakes) and analytic tools (e.g., Tableau, R, Alteryx, Esri)
  • Knowledge of data governance principles; experience with metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra) preferred
  • Proven experience using data to advance health equity, including disaggregated analyses and community-centered insights
  • Consensus-driven, influential leader who communicates complex ideas through clear and compelling narratives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience delivering information in multiple modalities and engaging diverse audiences, including executive and board-levels
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-moving environment
  • Intellectual curiosity and commitment to staying current with analytics, AI, and healthcare technology trends
  • Demonstrated succession building trusted relationships across a federated organization and with external partners
  •  High degree of independence, flexibility, initiative, and accountability
  • Deep commitment to Planned Parenthood's mission, values, and the communities it serves
