Overview

Are you a strategic construction leader with experience building teams, navigating complex projects and leading through growth? As the Vice President, Data Centers, you will provide leadership for our growing data center business, building organizational capability and driving the successful pursuit, planning and delivery of complex projects.

What you will be doing
  • Provides strategic and operational leadership for the Data Centers business, establishing the teams, capabilities and processes required to support growth and successful project delivery.
  • Leads and influences across multiple business units and joint venture teams, building alignment and leveraging expertise and resources across the organization.
  • Oversees the planning and delivery of complex data center construction programs, ensuring projects achieve safety, quality, schedule, commercial and financial objectives.
  • Partners with business development and preconstruction teams to evaluate opportunities, develop pursuit strategies and support project selection and bid decisions.
  • Provides leadership and oversight of project commercial strategy, including risk management, contract considerations, cost controls, forecasting and financial performance.
  • Builds, develops and leads multidisciplinary teams, partnering with Human Resources and business leaders to identify talent and organizational needs that support current and future projects.
  • Establishes strong relationships with clients, partners and key stakeholders, representing the organization in strategic discussions and supporting long-term client relationships.
  • Provides executive oversight and guidance to project leadership teams on complex construction, operational, commercial and client matters.
  • Works collaboratively with heavy civil and building teams to coordinate integrated project solutions and leverage capabilities across the organization.
  • Reviews project performance, forecasts, schedules and key risks to ensure appropriate plans and resources are in place to achieve project objectives.
  • Supports the development and implementation of consistent operating practices, lessons learned and delivery standards across the Data Centers portfolio.
  • Fosters a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement across project and leadership teams.
  • Provides senior leadership with insight into business performance, project status, emerging risks and opportunities within the Data Centers market.
What we are looking for
  • 15+ years' experience in heavy civil construction required.
  • 10+ years' experience managing construction teams required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field a plus.
  • Experience leading complex construction programs involving heavy civil and/or vertical building construction required.
  • Data center, mission-critical or similarly complex construction experience advantageous but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale teams, establish organizational capability and lead effectively through periods of growth.
  • Proven success influencing and collaborating across multiple business units and teams in a matrixed organization, including situations without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, preconstruction, commercial strategy, financial management and construction risk.
  • Expert negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate complex commercial, operational and stakeholder issues.
  • Ability to identify, assess and mitigate project and business risks and provide strategic guidance to project leadership teams.
  • Knowledge of FlatironDragados and joint venture operating models and established relationships across the business advantageous.
  • Expert knowledge of complex construction means, methods and project delivery.
