Job description

Ibotta is looking for a Data Science Manager, Marketing Analytics to join our fast-growing team. This position is located in Denver, Colorado, as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

The Role

This is a player/coach role that will lead the data science and analytics engineering functions within the Marketing Analytics team, while driving innovative solutions using machine learning, data analytics, and statistical modeling for internal and external partners. You will work closely with direct to consumer and B2B marketing leaders to define and execute Ibotta's growth strategy, translating business questions and performance goals into Machine Learning driven personalization models

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead data science projects end-to-end: gathering requirements, cleaning complex datasets, and developing, evaluating, and productionizing innovative technical solutions, while optimizing existing incentive models

  • Build centralized and extensible code repositories, packages, and workflows in Python.

  • Implement MLOps best practices and establish automated processes to scale insights across Ibotta.

  • Flex work between advanced ML capabilities and descriptive analyses to meet the business where it's at.

  • Confidently speak with internal and external stakeholders about foundational models and project deliverables.

  • Serve as a leader across the department, bringing operational and culture-building best practices.

  • Research industry trends to stay abreast of new developments and proactively suggest areas of improvement.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in a measurement-driven function with experience working directly with leadership.

  • 2+ years of management experience with a proven ability to hire and develop talent.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, computer engineering, or a related field.

  • Expert-level experience with data analysis and pipeline tools, including Databricks, SQL, Python, Spark, Airflow, and Git/GitHub.

  • Experience hiring, leading, developing, and retaining talent

  • Deep expertise in machine learning tools (e.g., Tensorflow, sci-kit learn, Gradient Boosting, Neural Networks) and statistical techniques (Causal inference, A/B testing).

  • Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills; experience in marketing/media measurement is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional areas.

  • Curiosity and the capability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Job Description

  • This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match.Denver office perks include paid parking, snacks and occasional meals.

  • Base compensation range: $158,000 - $185,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary. Equity is included in overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
