Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Assistant Vice President Branch Manager position is responsible to motivate their team to acquire, expand, and retain member relationships and leading staff to maximize the service/sales encounter. This position is accountable for the effective and efficient management of any branch within the Retail Network. This position will also require effective managing of member deposits, loans, relationship growth, strong member satisfaction and member loyalty. The Branch Manager position is responsible for cultivating community awareness and generating new business and referrals from industry contacts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant Vice President Branch Manager must effectively carry out the essential duties of this position in a manner that consistently demonstrates the core values of Notre Dame Federal Credit Union in a positive manner.

PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND COACHING FOR BRANCH PARTNERS:

  • Actively model sales and service behaviors necessary to achieve branch goals in sales and member satisfaction.
  • Continually observe partners to provide staff with constructive feedback to improve their sales skills and results.
  • Review performance standards and expectations of team members to assure effectiveness and accountability.
  • Provide timely and ongoing performance coaching and feedback through formal performance appraisals and regular informal coaching sessions.
  • Responsible for the communication and interpretation of overall organizational purpose, critical measures, and strategies as it relates to their individual branch and team member goals and expectations that contribute to their success.
  • Responsible for developing a staff of highly engaged partners as measured by annual partner surveys.
  • Recognize positive behaviors, achievements, and results exhibited by partners in a consistent and professional manner.
  • Ensure partners are trained and held accountable for operational policies and procedures.
  • Support and encourage the organization's commitment to learning by facilitating team participation in training while insuring member service levels are at acceptable levels.
  • Work closely with appropriate personnel and human resources to effectively carry out staff disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.
  • Responsible for their continual individual professional development and improvement of their leadership skills and competencies including, communication, thinking and analyzing, business understanding, interpersonal, leadership, management, and self awareness skills.

RESPONSIBLE FOR ACHIEVING BRANCH SALES GOALS:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategies and tactics necessary in achieving established targets for net and gross sales for their branch.

DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN MEMBER SATISFACTION LEVELS:

  • Utilize member feedback systems to measure and enhance member service levels that promote member relationship growth and loyalty.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing strategies and tactics necessary in achieving established targets for member satisfaction for their branch.
  • Actively model appropriate and positive member service behaviors designed to increase member loyalty.
  • Consistently observe and coach staff to continually improve partner skills in improving member satisfaction levels.
  • Ensure member service activities are in compliance with Notre Dame Federal Credit Union's board policies, management procedures and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Actively seeks to add new SEG's to the Credit Union's field of membership and to increase member business relationships through attending community events (Business after Hours, community volunteerism), and by other appropriate means.

OPERATIONS:

  • Responsible for the management and control of the operational expenses of their branch.
  • Responsible for ensuring those transactions of tellers and financial specialists are extremely accurate with a minimal amount of errors.
  • Insure that all scheduled audits are carried out in an efficient, timely, consistent, and accurate fashion.
  • Maintain security by ensuring that all security procedures are followed, equipment is maintained and tested, and that partners adhere to cash management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all partners' labor hours (working & nonworking) are accurately recorded on a timely basis through the Credit Union's time and attendance systems.
  • Ensure that partners apply appropriate skill in controlling loan and fraud losses.
  • Manage facility by ensuring proper maintenance, repairs and other facilities needs with assistance of the facility manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position directly supervises the Assistant Branch Manager, Member Service Representatives and the Branch Service Supervisor; indirectly supervises the other partners in the branch. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This position's responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training partners; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining partners; addressing complaints and resolving
problems.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

The Assistant Vice President Branch Manager is expected to attain branch goals in savings, lending, account relationships, transactions, and membership growth, and sales. The productivity standards are determined from time to time to reflect the traffic, volume and market opportunities for the branch.
