Job description

ADI requires a CISO who will establish and maintain an enterprise-wide strategy, and multi-year roadmap to protect information assets, global distribution services, ecommerce, and cloud solutions, along with enterprise IT systems and services.
The CISO will be responsible for communicating at a strategic level to Executive Management, the Audit and Compliance Committee, and the Board of Directors, ensuring our cybersecurity posture aligns with the company's commitment to sustainability and operational resilience. A primary focus of this role is evangelizing a 'security-by-design' culture across our global business units to drive adoption of best practices that safeguard the world's most essential resource.
The CISO will lead a dedicated central security team while orchestrating a larger network of matrixed resources across our global operations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Reporting to the SVP & Chief Information Officer, James Olender, the CISO must be able to:
Mitigate Third-Party & Supply Chain Risk: Develop robust protocols to manage the cybersecurity of a global, interconnected supply chain, ensuring that ADI's digital products and services remain resilient against sophisticated hybrid attacks.
Translate Risk into Financial Terms: Quantify and communicate cyber risks as financial and operational impact to the Board and the Audit and Compliance Committee, ensuring security investments are aligned with ADI's Long Term revenue goals and sustainability mission.
Lead a "Shared Responsibility" Culture: Evangelize a culture of cyber awareness across ADI's 5,000+ employees and global partner network, moving security from a technical hurdle to a proactive business enabler that builds customer trust.
Standardize Global Governance: Drive the adoption of consistent global standards (such as NIST and ISO 27001) across ADI's global locations to ensure a baseline of "cyber hygiene" that supports ADI's ongoing digital expansion.
HOW YOU WILL DO IT:
  • Develop and implement a strategic, long-term security strategy that protects ADI's global information assets.
  • Work with senior business leaders to assess and communicate acceptable levels of risk across diverse global markets and critical infrastructure projects.
  • Identify and report on security risks to the Executive team and the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board, providing expertise on industrial and data standards.
  • Deliver Board updates, presenting ADI's security posture directly and in alignment with Board expectations.
  • Manage a high-visibility Board environment where cyber risks must be escalated rapidly and communicated with clarity, precision, and real-time responsiveness.
  • Develop, mentor, and manage a high-performing global team of security professionals, fostering expertise in Cloud Security, Application Security, and Product Security.
  • Identify, establish, and continuously enhance cybersecurity policies, standards, and tooling embedded within ADI's enterprise AI strategy, ensuring responsible, secure adoption of AI across products, platforms, and operations.
  • Ensure cyber resilience of critical distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehouse execution, transportation systems, store fronts, and customer service platforms.
  • Implement necessary controls to secure and protect branch operations, point-of-sale systems, customer-facing technologies, and distributed edge computing environments.
  • Protect customer-facing ecommerce platforms from fraud, account takeover, bot attacks, payment fraud, and digital commerce disruption.
  • Leverage AI-driven security capabilities to strengthen threat detection and response, enabling proactive defense against emerging cyber risks and accelerating ADI's ability to anticipate, prevent, and mitigate sophisticated attacks.
  • Ensure the security program complies with international data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR) and emerging cybersecurity regulations.
  • Act as the primary champion for a "Security-by-Design" culture, ensuring that security is a competitive advantage for ADI's digital solutions.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architects and Product Engineering teams to ensure ADI's platforms are developed according to secure coding and infrastructure guidelines.
  • Manage global intrusion detection and vulnerability reporting, coordinating with Internal Audit and external partners to remediate risks across all technology environments.
  • Develop KPI metrics that measure the effectiveness of the security program and demonstrate continuous maturity in alignment with the NIST framework.
  • Monitor the global threat landscape for emerging risks, advising stakeholders on proactive defense measures.
  • Own enterprise cyber resilience strategy including operational recovery, business continuity planning, cyber crisis management, and executive tabletop exercises.
  • Oversee incident response planning and breach investigations, coordinating with Legal and Communications to manage impacts on customers and public trust.
  • Lead the creation of a comprehensive Supply Chain Risk Management process to secure ADI's vendor ecosystem and digital partners.
  • Lead cybersecurity due diligence and rapid post-acquisition integration for M&A activity.
  • Support public company governance requirements, cybersecurity disclosures, SEC reporting obligations, and Audit Committee oversight processes.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Minimum 10-15 years of IT and/or business leadership experience, with at least 7 years specifically in senior information security/cybersecurity roles within a multinational organization.
  • A proven track record in developing global security strategies that encompass both Enterprise IT and Product security roadmaps.
  • Extensive knowledge of business risk and the ability to conduct real-time risk assessments for enterprise and product services.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex cyber threats into business and sustainability impacts for Executive Management and the Audit and Compliance Committee.
  • Experience presenting cybersecurity strategy, incident response, and risk posture directly to public company Boards and Audit Committees.
  • Experience managing compliance with global privacy, cybersecurity, and digital operational resilience regulations.

WHAT WE WOULD VALUE:
  • A natural coalition builder with the ability to inspire interdisciplinary teams to achieve unified global security goals.
  • Experienced in negotiating complex SaaS, Cloud, and Managed Security Services (MSS) contracts with global vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead incident response and disaster recovery in high-pressure situations, particularly those involving critical infrastructure.
  • A leader of leaders who embodies the highest level of values and ethics
  • Prior experience in distribution, logistics, ecommerce, retail, manufacturing, or similarly complex operational environments preferred.
