Job description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Responsible for leading design, development, and implementation of advanced cybersecurity solutions focused on cryptographic systems, such as FIPS 140 certified appliances and post-quantum security measures. Serve as a subject matter expert on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, security monitoring, cryptographic key management systems, and observability solutions across complex enterprise environments. Drive innovation and deliver end-to-end software solutions, applying modern software development practices. Architect and implement self-healing and automated remediation frameworks by leveraging observability and monitoring tools. Help lead code reviews, architecture reviews, and security assessments to ensure alignment with organizational standards and compliance mandates. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and define secure and scalable solutions. Advise on post-quantum cryptographic strategies and ensure all firm cryptographic systems are future-proof against emerging security threats. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams. Investigate, identify, and troubleshoot software and infrastructure-related issues, ensuring rapid resolution through both proactive and reactive engineering solutions. Participate in strategic project planning sessions to design secure, efficient, and scalable technology solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Security Engineer, Security Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Security Engineer, Security Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires (4) four years of experience with the following: building automation to integrate vendor security with enterprise systems and processes. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: working with FIPS 140 Level 2 and Level 3 certified cryptographic appliances including PKWare, Thales Vormetric, CipherTrust Manager, Gemalto KeySecure, and Luna HSMs to enable cryptographic key management and secure integrations; applying cyber security practices and post-quantum cryptographic strategies, including post-quantum safe designs; engineering and optimizing monitoring and incident response solutions using Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and Dynatrace to ensure high availability, operational resilience, and security compliance; conducting SRE including performance monitoring, incident management, root cause analysis, and the development of self healing automated remediation solutions for enterprise-scale systems; developing software using Python v.3 or higher, PowerShell, and Java v.1.8 or higher for designing APIs, backend modules, and automated workflows; working with infrastructure as code tools including Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation to enable automated, consistent, and secure provisioning of cloud and hybrid infrastructures; building and managing CI/CD pipelines using platforms including Jenkins and Spinnaker to streamline secure, continuous integration and automated deployment processes; using containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes to deploy scalable, secure, and high-availability applications; administering Windows and Linux operating systems; managing Oracle, Cockroach, and Postgres databases, including performance optimization, security hardening, and high-availability configurations; and working with automation and ITSM integrations, including developing Splunk-driven analytics, actionable alerts, and ServiceNow-based auto-ticketing systems to reduce manual interventions and enhance operational reliability.

Job Location: 8181 Communications Pkwy, Plano, TX 75024. This position requires up to 10% domestic travel to JPMC Sites.
