Job description

We are hiring a hands-on Material Handler – Inventory & Receiving to support daily warehouse operations, with a strong focus on inbound receiving, inventory accuracy, and staging materials for production and shipment. This role is critical to keeping operations moving, especially in receiving, sorting, verifying, and putting away incoming parts, as well as supporting day-to-day material flow across the facility. This is a fast-paced, physical role that requires organization, attention to detail, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, and verify incoming materials against packing slips
  • Inspect for damage, discrepancies, and accuracy
  • Organize and stage incoming parts for put-away
  • Ensure timely processing to prevent bottlenecks in receiving
  • Maintain accurate daily inventory through proper tracking and movement
  • Put away materials in designated locations in an organized manner
  • Consolidate inventory and maintain clean, structured storage areas
  • Support ongoing inventory accuracy and cycle awareness
  • Kit and stage orders (e.g., Bay Bridge and similar jobs)
  • Move and shuffle materials to appropriate staging or production areas
  • Act as an extra set of hands across departments as needed
  • Pull and prepare materials for outbound orders
  • Package, band, and wrap shipments according to requirements
  • Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts or other equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and work area

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years of warehouse, receiving, or material handling experience
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with part verification and counts
  • Forklift experience required
  • Ability to read and understand packing slips and inventory documents
  • Comfortable working independently and shifting priorities as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 55 lbs. regularly
  • Stand/walk for extended shifts (9+ hours)
  • Push/pull heavy material carts (up to 200 lbs.)
  • Work in a production environment with temperature changes and exposure to dust, oils, and fumes
  • Safety glasses are always required

This position will work in a production setting that requires safety gear such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection. The workspace involves exposure to high temperatures, sparks, metal dust, and industrial fumes as well as varying noise levels. Employees must adhere to strict safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
