Job description


The Dangerous Goods Clerk supports the safe and compliant handling, documentation, and movement of dangerous goods in accordance with applicable DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations. This role performs administrative and operational tasks to ensure shipments meet regulatory requirements and company procedures under the guidance of the Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor.
A Shift: Sunday- Tuesday 6 AM- 6PM; every other Saturday 6 AM- 2 PM.
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable dangerous goods regulations.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain dangerous goods shipping documentation.
  • Verify classification, labeling, marking, and packaging of dangerous goods shipments.
  • Support audits, inspections, and internal reviews related to dangerous goods compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing related to dangerous goods shipments and training.
  • Report potential compliance issues, incidents, or discrepancies to leadership.
  • Assist with investigations and documentation related to incidents or non-conformances.
  • Support training coordination and tracking for dangerous goods requirements.
  • Follow established safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment.

Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of dangerous goods shipping requirements.
  • Experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse, or transportation environments.
  • Ability to follow regulatory procedures and detailed instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven background in the shipping or logistics industry.
  • Strong PC skills, particularly in MS Office, with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English; Good verbal and written communication skills.
