Kelmar's Full-Stack Developers build and enhance web applications in Angular and Spring Boot, drive technical quality through code reviews and testing practices, and mentor junior developers as they grow.
Our web applications serve more than 40 state government clients-running on AWS with a mix of serverless and containerized workloads including Lambda, EKS, Fargate, backed by MySQL and OpenSearch.
This is a senior individual contributor role where you'll lead projects from requirements through delivery, shape technical direction, and directly influence a product used by millions of people. If you're energized by building polished, performant web applications and offering technical leadership to colleagues and peers, we want to hear from you. This is a remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Develop and enhance web applications using Angular and Spring Boot
  • Implement features that improve user experience, accessibility, and responsiveness across devices / browsers
  • Create sustainable, well-documented code and advise on technical debt reduction
  • Build reusable code and libraries for use across applications
  • Optimize site performance, localization, authentication/authorization, and SEO
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests; participate in the design of CI/CD workflows
  • Analyze code and communicate detailed, actionable reviews to development teams
  • Apply cloud-native patterns to ongoing platform innovation
  • Develop applications that run in serverless (AWS Lambda) or managed Kubernetes environments (AWS EKS, Fargate)
  • Participate in occasional client-facing meetings
  • Lead projects, feature requests from requirements through delivery
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
  • Support deployment and maintenance activities, off-hours, as needed
  • Occasional travel for internal meetings (<10%)

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of development experience working within a modern full-stack web application environment
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or commensurate experience
  • Strong experience with Angular
  • Experience with Spring or Spring Boot
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL preferred), including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling
  • Familiarity with search technologies such as OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
  • Proficiency with Git-based workflows
  • Familiarity with automated testing practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to review and interpret client requests with product owners and analysts
  • Comfortable working independently with limited supervision
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with other front-end frameworks like React, Vue, or similar
  • AWS certifications (Developer Associate, Solutions Architect, or equivalent)
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future

SALARY & BENEFITS:
Compensation for this role varies depending on several factors including work location, level of experience, and skill set. As required by applicable law, the hiring range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000.
