Job description

Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Nurse Manager Critical Care (RN) for a top Healthcare client.

This leadership role demonstrates 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the delivery of safe, quality, patient care within assigned Critical Care units. The Manager directs the continuity of care through interdisciplinary collaboration, develops programs to improve quality and meet core measure goals, and actively fosters a culture of service excellence and patient-centered care.
Job Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and ensure that the department's standard of nursing practice, policies, and procedures meet all legal, accrediting, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Direct the continuity of patient care through the demonstrated use of an interdisciplinary team approach and collaborate with all members regarding patient progress and treatment.
  • Develop and implement ongoing programs to measure, monitor, assess, and improve the quality of nursing care delivered to meet hospital-wide core measure and safety goals.
  • Ensure the effective coordination of patient care with other services and departments throughout the hospital to optimize flow and outcomes.
  • Participate actively in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to positively impact the overall patient experience and ensure a quiet healing environment.
  • Oversee effective discharge planning, ensuring staff provides appropriate instructions, information, and referral to necessary community resources.
  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for ensuring effective pain management practices are properly implemented and operational in assigned areas.

Requirements

Education
  • Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required (implied by diploma/degree).
Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Recent Acute Care leadership experience in the ICU is REQUIRED.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS Instructor) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS or ACLS Instructor) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS or PALS Instructor) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
Skills
  • Proven ability to assume 24-hour responsibility for operational, quality, and personnel management in a Critical Care setting.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing quality improvement programs, core measure compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Strong leadership skills in communicating empathetically with patients, families, and team members.
