Position OverviewUnited Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Radiology Assistant. The Radiology Assistant provides comprehensive support to the Radiology Department by assisting technical and clerical staff to ensure operations are accurate, timely, responsive, and reliable. Responsible for patient and equipment transportation, inventory management, patient monitoring, and quality assurance tasks. Prioritizes activities that enhance patient flow and customer service, while supporting the needs of patients, medical staff, employees, and regulatory agencies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Orders, maintains and distributes appropriate levels of linen and stockroom supplies ensuring weekly department needs are met.
  • Performs patient transportation for all areas of Diagnostic Radiology as requested by technical staff members.

  • Performs transportation of equipment essential to Radiology operations as requested by technical staff members.

  • Monitors patients while they are in the Radiology Department by assisting the control area person in maintaining timely patient throughput and alerting technical staff of patient's needs.

  • Performs film processing functions during peak hours of operation and demonstrates the ability to maintain operation of processors, notifying the radiology supervisor of malfunctions.

  • Provides assistance to the technical and clerical staff members, ensuring department operations meet the needs of our customers.

  • Performs daily QA testing to ensure optimal processor operating levels are maintained.
