Customer Service Clerk
Section I: Primary Position Purpose:
Customer Service Clerk of the Pueblo of Pojoaque Wellness Center is responsible for registering new members to the and Wellness and the cleaning and maintenance of the facility grounds.
Section II: Primary Duties:
- Establish a setting that ensures the health and safety of participating members
- Assure grounds, building and all problem areas are free of graffiti and litter
- Responsible for signing people in to the facility
- Assure all restrooms and equipment are clean and sanitary
- Responsible for answering any of the clients' questions and concerns
- Responsible for general facility repairs
- Ability to relate to wellness members and staff in a professional manner
- Ensure the cleaning of all tile floors, basketball court, and carpeting
- Clean windows on a regular basis
- Assist with the summer and fall cleanup activities
- Accept responsibility and act independently in completing work assignments
- Be able to work on your feet for minor periods of time
- Maintain all lighting fixtures and clean as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned by the unit or Executive Director
Section III: Knowledge Required:
- Basic working knowledge and ability to handle different kinds of equipment(weightlifting machines, cardio, sportsballs, pool items, etc).
- Ability to perform duties and use tools and equipment in a safe and acceptable manner and in compliance with safety regulations and work standards.
- Basic math skills. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide and work with simple fractions.
- Good verbal communication skills.
Section IV: Supervisory Controls:
The Customer Service Clerk is under the direct supervision of the Wellness Center Director. Work is performed under minimum supervision.
Section V: Guidelines:
Guidelines include all Pueblo of Pojoaque policies and procedures as well as blueprints, construction/work plans, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), Pueblo of Pojoaque safety guidelines.
Section VI: Personal Contacts:
Internal customers include contact with Unit Director and staff as well as volunteers and other clients of the Wellness Center.
Section VII: Purpose of Personal Contacts:
Contact with the internal customer is for creating a team atmosphere, receiving instructions, and exchanging information. Conduct should be professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous.
Section VIII: Physical Demands:
Standing, sitting, kneeling, bending, climbing, or stretching for extended periods of time. Often works in cramps areas, exposed to hot, cold, dusty or wet conditions. Must exert heavy physical effort in doing some tasks. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing 50 lbs. unassisted. With assistance, occasionally lifts items weighing 75 lbs. or more. Must be in good physical condition. May also work with cleaning compounds and fluids. Utilizes safety devices and apparel as required. Must operate and use equipment and tools in such a manner as to prevent injury to self and others, and damage to property.
Section IX: Work Environment/Working Conditions:
Workshop/Office setting. May be required to work outside in all kinds of weather. Inside work areas may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. Minimal travel required.
Section X: Job Related Qualification Standards:
- High school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Basic personal computer skills
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Prioritize tasks
