Job description

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Inglewood, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Inglewood, CA
Details:
  • In-Person Tutoring in Inglewood, CA
  • Schedule: 10 hours a month; 2 sessions a week
  • Pay rate ranges from $25-$35 per hour

Ideal Candidate:
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (required)
  • Experience supporting early elementary students in literacy and math development
  • Familiarity with working with students who have IEPs and diverse learning needs
  • Patient, encouraging, and able to build confidence in young learners
  • Skilled at teaching foundational reading skills, including phonemic awareness and early decoding
  • Comfortable providing hands-on, engaging instruction using age-appropriate activities
  • Able to adapt lessons to the student's learning pace and individual goals
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with families
  • Organized and capable of tracking student progress toward academic goals

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized instruction in foundational literacy and math skills
  • Support letter recognition, phonemic awareness, decoding, and early reading fluency development
  • Reinforce early writing skills, including letter formation, handwriting, and simple sentence construction
  • Teach foundational math concepts such as number recognition, counting, number sense, and basic addition and subtraction
  • Implement structured learning activities aligned with the student's IEP goals and academic needs
  • Use engaging, multi-sensory strategies to support skill acquisition and retention
  • Provide consistent encouragement and positive reinforcement to build confidence and motivation
  • Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on the student's growth and learning needs
  • Maintain a supportive, structured, and engaging learning environment
