Job description

GoodwillSR AmeriCorps members will assist. This is a behind-the-scenes capacity-building role. You will research workforce needs, organize existing learning assets, create standardized curriculum tools, build a centralized SharePoint resource library, and develop evaluation and sustainability systems. You will not provide routine instruction, client assistance, or operational coverage.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess current and prior VITA volunteer, scheduling, outreach, partnership, training, communication, and recognition systems.
  • Map end-to-end workflows for in-person, virtual, telephone-assisted, and drop-off appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, cancellation, no-shows, completion, and follow-up.
  • Help configure and test the selected scheduling platform, including appointment types, settings, permissions, communication templates, data definitions, reporting needs, and exception procedures.
  • Develop user guides, test scenarios, checklists, staff and volunteer training materials, issue logs, and implementation procedures.
  • Analyze aggregate scheduling use, appointment capacity, cancellations, no-shows, and feedback during tax season; recommend and document improvements.
  • Create an annual scheduling-system implementation, tax-season support, closeout, and ownership-transfer guide.

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old and meet AmeriCorps citizenship or lawful permanent resident requirements.
  • Successfully complete all required AmeriCorps screening and National Service Criminal History Check requirements.

Service Description:

AmeriCorps members will help increase community awareness of the programs that GoodwillSR offers and support Mission services activities, Monday through Friday, 4o hours a week. The members will implement several outreach service methods, including phone calls, emails, text messaging, social media campaigns, geo-marketing/geo-tracking, and special events. Outreach includes, but is not limited to, re-engaging clients who have not visited the center for 31 days or more; inviting clients to job fairs and special events; and informing clients about services such as classes, free tax prep, Veterans Services, and certification training.
