Job description

Position location: Austin, TX

Role Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver high‑quality front‑end applications using Angular.
  • Build scalable, resilient back‑end services with Java, Spring Boot, and REST/microservices.
  • Design and deploy cloud‑native solutions on AWS (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, etc.).
  • Collaborate closely with product, architecture, UX, and back‑end engineering teams to deliver end‑to‑end features.
  • Ensure code quality through test‑driven development (TDD), code reviews, and best engineering practices.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience.
  • Strong front‑end skills with Angular (TypeScript/JavaScript).
  • Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and REST/microservices.
  • Solid experience with AWS (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Strong problem‑solving and system design skills.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis; Western Union will not sponsor work visas for this position.
Preferred Skills
  • Fintech experience (payments, risk, compliance, banking, etc.).

Work Shift
