Position Overview

The Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) is seeking an experienced Production Support Java Developer to join its Production Support Team. This contract-to-hire opportunity focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, enhancing, and supporting mission-critical enterprise Java applications. The ideal candidate will have strong Java development experience with Spring technologies, Oracle databases, and modern DevOps practices while supporting production systems across the full application stack.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain enterprise Java production applications.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and deploy patches and enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain Java web applications and web services.
  • Perform full-stack support including UI, business logic, APIs, and database operations.
  • Write automated tests using BDD/TDD methodologies.
  • Optimize Oracle database queries and ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with technical teams using Jira and DevOps practices.
  • Participate in application design, quality assurance, and system analysis.
  • Implement secure coding practices and support vulnerability remediation.
  • Maintain application reliability, performance, and production stability.
Important Notes

  • 100% Onsite in Phoenix, AZ (Local Candidates Only).

  • Contract-to-Hire position with eligibility to convert to a Full-Time State Employee after approximately 6 months.
  • Remote work may be available after FTE conversion.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
