We're growing! As a member of the ABB US Robotics Service Team, the Robotics Mechanical Project Engineer - Paint Application position has a high impact on corporate revenues and on effectively servicing Paint customers.

This person is a primary interface between the customer and the ABB Modernization Team Organization and plays a significant role in determining the Company's image as viewed by the customer.

Main Accountabilities:

- Provide system integration support of ABB robots (Paint robot upgrades, replacements, and improvements)

- Provide Paint robot specific or systems training

- Ability to communicate with customers (external and internal) in high pressure situations and maintain strong customer relationships

- Ability to be proactive to support customer needs and capable of traveling on short notice. Domestic/International 20-30%

- Design systems using 3D design software, including layouts, build details, creating lineups for manufacturing

- Create scopes of work for manufacturing, installation, support including Request for Quotation (RFQ)

- Support/supervise installations

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, and 5 years' experience with related applications experience: Robotics, Paint System Building / Integration for Paint applications, etc.

- Mechanical knowledge of Automotive paint applications on differing substrates such as car bodies, metal bumpers, fascia's, plastic cladding and numerous other parts using automated electrostatic spray equipment.

- Understand the variations within this equipment and the correct/best use of these variations.

- Mechanical design of robotics paint application cells to customer specifications including cycle time studies, film build, fluid flow rates, robot pathing, robot tip speeds, number of robots and number of atomizers (per customer specifications).

- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
