Robotics Engineer

JOB SUMMARY
The candidate will apply his knowledge in robotics in an automotive environment for structural stampings and assemblies (Body-In-White parts) for matters of major troubleshooting assistance, programming, and cycle time reductions.Β 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Β  Β Implement process improvements and cycle time reductions through optimization of robot paths and programs
Β  Β Assist maintenance technicians during major fault issues and help with root cause analysis.
Β  Β Help develop corrective and preventive maintenance procedures as well as train maintenance technicians in the use of them.
Β  Β Collection, monitoring and implementation of corrective actions for down time issues caused by robots.
Β  Β Support engineering change activity and implementation.
Β  Β Responsible for keeping up with the latest technology and trends concerning robotic applications.
Β  Β Implement best practices and products for robot dress packs.
Β  Β Champion robot training for all related plant personnel
Β  Β Procurement of spare parts for Robotic equipment
Β  Β Ensure plant is compliant with all robotic standards, RIA, ISO, ANSI
Β  Β Support buyoff activities for new programs and engineering changes as needed
Β  Β Ensure Robot documentation is up to date
Β  Β Maintain Robot backups and Images up to date

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Β  Β BS: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline plus 3 years experience in a controls/robotic environment OR
Β  Β AS: Electronics Technology plus 5 years robotic experience in a controls/robotics environment OR
Β  Β 7+ years experience and training in a similar role and environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Β  Β High skill set of PC and communication skills
Β  Β Strong proficiency in robot programming (FANUC & ABB)
Β  Β Proficiency on FANUC DCS, KAREL & RoboGuide
Β  Β Knowledge of Servo Guns & External Axis
Β  Β Understanding of Machine Safety and current OSHA Safety regulations.
Β  Β Knowledge of Vision Inspection systems
Β  Β Proficiency in PLC's (A-B Control Logix & Panelview HMI's) a plus.
