Job description

Robotics Engineer
BCI Solutions, Inc.
Location: Northern Indiana (Bremen, IN)
Department: Operations
Reports To: VP of Operations
Position Summary
BCI Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Robotics Engineer to design, program, integrate, and support industrial robotic systems that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost across our foundry and manufacturing operations.
This role will be hands-on and plant-based, owning robotic cells from concept through production support. The ideal candidate is mechanically and electrically curious, comfortable on the shop floor, and motivated to drive automation that delivers real manufacturing results.
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Robotics & Automation
โ€ข Design, program, and debug industrial robotic systems for:
โ€ข Machine tending
โ€ข Material handling
โ€ข Foundry and machining operations
โ€ข Assembly and secondary processes
โ€ข Program robots from major platforms (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, Universal Robots).
โ€ข Integrate robots with PLCs, sensors, vision systems, conveyors, and safety devices.
โ€ข Develop and optimize robot paths, cycle times, and uptime.
โ€ข Cell Integration & Support
โ€ข Lead robotic cell commissioning from installation through production launch.
โ€ข Design or support end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and fixturing.
โ€ข Troubleshoot robot, electrical, mechanical, and process issues.
โ€ข Provide ongoing production support and continuous improvement.
Safety & Standards
โ€ข Ensure robotic systems comply with OSHA, RIA, and internal safety standards.
โ€ข Participate in risk assessments and safety validation.
โ€ข Support BCI's Safety First culture in all automation projects.
โ€ข Continuous Improvement
โ€ข Identify automation opportunities that reduce labor, improve ergonomics, and increase throughput.
โ€ข Support lean manufacturing, standard work, and process optimization.
โ€ข Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
โ€ข Robotic cells launch on time, safely, and meet performance targets.
โ€ข Reduced manual labor and improved ergonomics.
โ€ข Improved uptime, cycle time, and consistency.
โ€ข Strong collaboration with operations and maintenance. Automation projects deliver measurable ROI.
Salary & Benefits
โ€ข Full benefits including award-winning healthcare and 401(k) with company match
โ€ข Starting salary of $85,000+ based on experience, technical ability, and expertise
The Right Fit
You are practical, curious, and driven. You like technology, but you like results even more. You can work with engineers, maintenance techs, operators, supervisors, and executives without needing a translator.
This role takes energy, urgency, and the ability to influence people through action.
At BCI, StatusQuoSucksยฎ is not a slogan. It is the assignment.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
โ€ข Associates and or Bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (Equivalent experience considered)
โ€ข Experience with industrial robot programming.
โ€ข Understanding of manufacturing processes and shop-floor environments.
