Description

The Health Center Volunteer Engagement and Intake Specialist collaborate with the Volunteer Services Manager and support all health center volunteers across clinical and non-clinical teams. This role coordinates volunteer onboarding, ongoing engagement, and intake processes, ensuring seamless volunteer support that enhances patient experience and clinical efficiency. The Volunteer Engagement and Intake Specialist serve as the centralized resource for volunteer assignments and activities across the health center. This role collaborates with front desk operations to ensure patients participate in their scheduled health appointments. 


Supervisory Responsibilities 

  • None 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Services Manager to ensure volunteers are assigned appropriate opportunities, times, and days. 
  • Schedule Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing any health center-related questions, concerns, or requests for accommodations. 
  • Schedule and coordinate volunteer shifts to ensure robust coverage during peak times, events, and clinic days across all health center areas. 
  • Collaborate with nursing and specialty providers to optimize patient schedules, flow and ensure patients attend appointments scheduled. 
  • Liaise with clinical leadership and the front desk to align volunteer capacity with health center needs. 
  • Build relationships with all volunteers. 
  • Track Volunteer attendance and patient appointments and report on details monthly. 
  • Manage volunteer providers schedules and attendance through appropriate follow up prior to volunteer day. 
  • Mange the monthly volunteer calendars and fill gaps according to the health center's needs. 
  • Alongside the Volunteer Services Manager, ensure all volunteers comply with HIPPA, privacy regulations, safety policies, and organizational standard. 
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by sharing insights on volunteer impact and patient experience. 
  • Assist with on-going training for volunteers across health center department. 
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Required Skills & Abilities 

  • Strong relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Capability to prioritize inter- and cross-departmental collaboration 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software 
  • Capability to use a broad range of technology? 
  • Commitment to and modeling of St. Petersburg Free Clinic mission and values 
  • Database experience or knowledge preferable.? 
  • Prospect research experience preferable.? 
  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment 

Education & Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Customer Service 
  • Experience in being a volunteer Coordinator 
  • Passionate for compassionate, patient-centered care 
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally 

Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Prolonged period of sitting and or standing assisting the doctors. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
