Job description

The Professional Surveyor position functions as a member of the Schneider Geomatics team with the purpose of self-performing most tasks associated with Geomatics projects including field and office tasks. The objective of this position is to deliver survey services to the client that meets the requirements of our agreements as to type and quality of services and timeliness of completion by a professional that has been involved in all aspects of the project from beginning to end.
The type of surveys a Professional Surveyor (Office/Field) could expect to be involved in would typically include boundary surveys and subdivision plats, topographic surveys, land title (ALTA) surveys, route surveys, construction surveys, and control surveys. A Professional Surveyor (Office/Field) may also perform other types of technical duties to support various Geomatics projects originating from other Schneider offices or teams.
What makes you the perfect fit for this job:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  2. Professional Land Surveyors license required in North Carolina.
  3. 3 – 5 years of Field surveying experience is required.
  4. 3 - 5 years of Office surveying experience is required.
  5. This position requires a good understanding of both field and office functions required to produce traditional. surveying deliverables related to the utility infrastructure and construction markets.
  6. Minimum of three (3) years of experience using AutoCAD required.
  7. Minimum of one (1) year of Civil 3D experience is preferred.
  8. Must be knowledgeable in the use of conventional and GPS land surveying equipment and techniques. (Experience with Trimble GPS network and base/rover setup; Trimble robotic Total Station; and proficient in Trimble business center is preferred).
  9. Experience in using GIS platforms and internet search engines.
  10. The ability to read, interpret and understand engineering drawings and utility construction plans is required.
  11. A valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
  12. Good written and oral communication in the English language.
