Job description

The Dolores Huerta Foundation (DHF) is a growing 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to inspire and organize communities to build volunteer organizations empowered to pursue social justice. DHF is based in Bakersfield, California. DHF is looking for a volunteer coordinator to join our team in Bakersfield. The ideal candidate possesses a combination of skills and qualities that enable them to effectively engage volunteers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers

  • Collaborate with community partners, educational institutions, and local organizations to expand volunteer opportunities and interest

  • Match volunteers with suitable roles based on skills, interests, and availability

  • Organize and conduct orientation sessions to familiarize and onboard volunteers with DHFs mission and values

  • Provide ongoing support and feedback to volunteers to continue their engagement

  • Work inter-departmentally within DHF to identify volunteer needs, and align volunteer efforts to meet DHF goals

  • Launch programming events that include voter registration canvassing, phone banking, tabling, and more

  • Data entry and management related to Civic programming and campaigns
