Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Staff Engineer to join a team responsible for maintaining and evolving our Kubernetes-based infrastructure across both on-premises and AWS environments. This is a hands-on, mid-level engineering role with significant ownership and impact on platform reliability and scalability.
You will work closely with Principal Engineers and internal customers to design, build, and maintain Kubernetes environments tailored to business needs, while ensuring operational excellence of the platform.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure across on-prem and AWS environments
  • Work with Principal Engineers and internal customers to gather requirements and design Kubernetes-based solutions
  • Provision, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Perform ongoing infrastructure maintenance, including:
    • Operating System updates and patching
    • Kubernetes upgrades and lifecycle management
    • Supporting software updates across the platform stack
  • Monitor platform health and proactively improve system stability and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and platform issues
  • Contribute to automation, tooling, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
  • Participation in team on-call rotations

Qualifications
Required
  • Solid hands-on experience with Kubernetes (cluster operations, upgrades, troubleshooting) - RKE1/2, CAPI
  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
  • Working knowledge of Golang and Python
  • Experience using GitHub for code and collaboration
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD and automation
  • Experience managing infrastructure maintenance, patching, and upgrades
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive engineering mindset

Nice to Have
  • Experience with hybrid infrastructure (on-prem + cloud)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes networking, security, and observability tooling
  • Experience with Kyverno policies for Kubernetes governance and compliance
  • Familiarity with Backstage (developer portal/platform engineering tooling)

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 118,000 - 176,000 USD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
