2nd Shift Machine Shop Lead (Working Lead)
Location: Waukesha County, WI Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm-10pm
Position Type: Direct Hire
Are you a hands-on machining professional who enjoys leading by example? One of our longstanding manufacturing clients is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Shop Lead to help oversee daily operations while remaining actively involved on the shop floor.
This is a working lead position, not a desk job. The right candidate will bring strong machining knowledge, the ability to support and develop team members, and a commitment to safety, quality, and production goals.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead and support machine shop employees on 2nd shift
  • Serve as a technical resource for setup, machining, and troubleshooting
  • Help coordinate daily workflow and priorities to meet production schedules
  • Monitor quality standards and promote continuous improvement
  • Train and mentor team members as needed
  • Partner with management to drive safety, productivity, and teamwork
  • Remain hands-on in machining operations and assist where needed
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous machine shop leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong machining background in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing documentation
  • Experience with CNC machining operations
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A team-oriented leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working alongside the crew
