INFECTION CONTROL NURSE(RN/LPN)  – Westmont Manor HRC, Westmont IL 

Afternoon (1pm-9pm)

Responsibilities of the Infection Control Nurse (RN/LPN):

  • Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives

  • Establish specific policies and procedures for Infection Control as it relates to the following departments: nursing; maintenance; laundry; dietary; rehabilitation; and ancillary services

  • Monitor the documentation of incidents of infection and file for reporting and analysis

  • Address patterns or trends in the incidents of infection with appropriate follow-up and corrective action

  • Supervise the performance of the corrective procedures by designated departments or individual staff

  • Establish the objectives of Infection Control education and provide training and in services to facilitate their attainment

  • Work as weekend Supervisor as part of Department head monthly rotation

Requirements of the Infection Control Nurse (RN)/(LPN):

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Registered Nurse (RN)/(LPN) license in the State of Illinois

  • Skilled Nursing Facility Infection Prevention Experience

  • Minimally, must have completed a 19 hour CMS Infection Prevention and Control Course

  • Must have working knowledge of general nursing and geriatric nursing

  • Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, HFS regulations

  • Compassion, tolerance and understanding of older adults
