Job description

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Cardiology team in Hilo, Hawaii. You will work alongside a collaborative group of cardiologists and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality cardiovascular care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This is a unique opportunity to practice in a supportive environment while enjoying an exceptional quality of life on the Big Island.

Key Responsibilities: Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients. Manage and monitor patients with common cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, hyperlipidemia, etc. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, Holter monitors, echocardiograms, and stress tests.

Assist in care coordination for patients undergoing procedures or referred for specialty care. Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable). Participate in hospital rounds, discharge planning, and transitions of care.

Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes, medications, and disease management. Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists, primary care providers, and support staff. Requirements Qualifications: Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii, or eligibility to obtain one.

National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA). BLS and ACLS certification required. A minimum of 1-2 years of cardiology or internal medicine experience is preferred, but strong new graduates with relevant rotations or an RN background in cardiology will be considered.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable working independently with physician support. EMR experience (Epic or equivalent preferred).
