Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Cardiology team in Hilo, Hawaii. You will work alongside a collaborative group of cardiologists and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality cardiovascular care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This is a unique opportunity to practice in a supportive environment while enjoying an exceptional quality of life on the Big Island.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conductpatient evaluations, histories, and physical exams for new and follow-upcardiology patients.
  • Manageand monitor patients with common cardiovascular conditions such ashypertension, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure,hyperlipidemia, etc.
  • Orderand interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, Holter monitors,echocardiograms, and stress tests.
  • Assistin care coordination for patients undergoing procedures or referred forspecialty care.
  • Provideinpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable).
  • Participatein hospital rounds, discharge planning, and transitions of care.
  • Educatepatients and families on lifestyle changes, medications, and diseasemanagement.
  • Collaborateclosely with supervising cardiologists, primary care providers, andsupport staff.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Currentand unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or PhysicianAssistant (PA) in Hawaii, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Nationalcertification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
  • BLSand ACLS certification required.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of cardiology or internal medicine experience is preferred, butstrong new graduates with relevant rotations or an RN background incardiology will be considered.
  • Excellentinterpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortableworking independently with physician support.
  • EMRexperience (Epic or equivalent preferred).
