About the Opportunity:
This position will remain open until filled, applications will be reviewed every two weeks.
The County Surveyor's Office in the Department of Land Use and Transportation is recruiting for a Survey Technician III in the Development Review Section of the Surveyor's Office. The primary duties may include performing in office reviews of surveys and plats for compliance with applicable statutes and codes for filing in the County Surveyor's Office.
Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Surveying principles and methods.

  • Statutes relating to surveying, right-of-way, and platting.

  • Computer software relating to surveying and engineering.

  • Use current manual and electronic survey instruments.

  • Use computer assisted drafting software.

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals and groups who come from diverse backgrounds and represent members of the public, coworkers, and/or vendors.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's Degree in surveying, mathematics, geographic information systems, construction management, engineering, forestry, or related field; AND two (2) years of responsible experience in boundary, cadastral or construction surveying. OR

  • Four (4) years of responsible experience in boundary, cadastral or construction surveying, which includes functional lead or training personnel experience.

Special Qualifications:
  • Must possess a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record
