Job description

Mount Yonah Medical Billing is a growing 3rd party billing company specializing in substance abuse and mental health billing. We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team! We are located in Atlanta, GA (Dunwoody). The VOB Specialist is responsible for confirming benefits for patients seeking treatment services from our clients. This is the type of job where the day goes by quickly and you will rarely be idle. If you enjoy detail-oriented work that will always keep you busy, please apply!
Schedule: In Office M-F 8:30am - 5pm
Type: Full-time
Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED - AA degree preferred.
  • Current (five-years) of no felonies or substance abuse convictions.

Knowledge And Training Required at Time of Hire:
  • Must have two-years of continuous sobriety prior to hire, if a recovering alcoholic or drug addict and participate in a self-help program.
  • Minimum of one year of administrative experience; preferably with medical billing experience; preferably in the mental health and substance abuse field.
  • Knowledge of insurance submittals procedures and medical forms and coding.
  • Strong problem solving, follow through and analytical skills required.
  • Excellent English; verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and other medical collections software.
  • Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.
  • Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency required.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and concisely over the telephone.

Responsibilities:
  1. Thoroughly read through and analyze VOB relative to the treatment requested
  2. Call private insurance companies to confirm eligibility of benefits
  3. Review and monitor assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports.
  4. Input VOB data in the system with accuracy and understanding of how to obtain approved claims
  5. Performs other duties assigned.
