Job description

Job Description: VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) offers enterprise customers a comprehensive suite of compute options—including VMware Kubernetes Service (VKS), VM service, and Container Pod service—to run modern and AI/ML workloads. These capabilities are powered by a natively embedded Kubernetes substrate (Supervisor) within VCF vSphere. VMware @ Broadcom is looking for a seasoned Senior Product Manager to drive product strategy, roadmap, and ecosystem integration for VKS and Supervisor. In this high-impact role, you will work closely with customers, open-source communities, and cross-functional engineering, marketing, sales and support teams to shape the future of cloud-native infrastructure on vSphere.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the multi-year product strategy for VKS, identifying market opportunities across cloud-native and emerging AI/ML use cases.
  • Product Execution: Translate customer needs into crisp product requirements, specs, and user experience workflows in close collaboration with engineering and UX.
  • Go-to-Market & Enablement: Partner with product marketing and sales to create compelling collaterals, drive early customer adoption, and accelerate VCF deployments.
  • Community & Evangelism: Engage with open-source communities (CNCF/Kubernetes) and represent VMware at industry forums, VMUGs, and conferences.
  • Customer Engagement: Lead deep-dive discovery sessions with global enterprise customers and partners to validate product direction and build feedback loops.
Required Skills:
  • Product management experience in enterprise cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, platform engineering, or virtualization.
  • Deep Kubernetes & Cloud-Native Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with K8s control plane architecture, Cluster API, scheduling, CNI/CSI, and the broader CNCF ecosystem alongside vSphere/ESXi.
  • Cloud infrastructure and DevOps Knowledge: Good understanding of private and public cloud infrastructure, including Compute, Storage and Networking, and modern devops models.
  • Technical Depth: Demonstrated ability to converse comfortably with principal engineers and enterprise cloud architects.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven track record of guiding products from concept through launch alongside engineering, UX, and GTM teams.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to customers and technical audiences.
Desired Skills:
  • Direct experience or active engagement with open-source governance and CNCF communities.
  • Track record of presenting at major industry conferences (e.g., KubeCon, VMUG).
  • Background in enabling platform architectures for modern and AI/ML workloads.
Education/Experience:

BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering related field plus 12 years of related experience OR MBA or MS in Computer Science or Engineering related field plus 10 years of related experience.

Location and Employment Type:

This is an on-site office-based position in Palo Alto CA. Must have legal authorization to work in the US.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 143,800.00 To USD 230,000.00
