Location: 1905 NE 41st Ave Portland, OR 97212
Position: Full -Time, Hourly/Non-Exempt

What You'll Be Doing
  • Implement and maintain inspirational showroom displays consistent with our design specifications, visual merchandising directives, and promotional calendar as directed by the Visual Merchandising Manager.
  • Create special displays to promote specific offers or products.
  • Draw /sketches designs to illustrate your ideas and vision.
  • Optimize store space and layout; keep all displays current and take down old displays.
  • Provide feedback to Visual Merchandising Manager about important issues including buying, quality and safety.
  • Ensure prices and other key information can be seen and are consistent with directives.
  • Emphasize correct stocking direction, signage placement and general maintenance.
  • Maintain the showroom, sales counter, shelves and stockroom ensuring the flow of product provides an engaging experience to every customer, every time.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and in-store staff on showroom changes and maintenance, keeping accurate control of inventory.
  • Physically set up or switch out displays with support from store staff as needed.
  • Perform some light furniture assembly and gather specific tools needed for each display solution with help from the team.
  • Stay up to date with our product range, features and benefits, and stock levels.
  • Remain current with product development, design trends, interior design techniques and functional home furnishing solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to create and present training on products, merchandising and effective display techniques that generate staff engagement.
  • Use your energy and enthusiasm for design to actively participate in in-store meetings, Visual Merchandiser meetings and training sessions within the market.
  • Understand and follow our company policies and procedures.
  • Treat all staff and associates with respect and professionalism, working effectively and efficiently together.
  • Greet and assist customers in a manner that models exemplary conduct to other staff and builds lasting relationships with our customers.
  • Perform other special projects or duties when required.

Who You Are
  • Prior retail, interior design and/or display experience preferred.
  • Successful associates have a wholehearted customer service approach with a professional and welcoming presentation.
  • Able to articulate knowledge of current trends in home furnishings, fashion and culture and apply imagination and creativity in each aspect of your role.
  • Knowledge and use of color and design concepts.
  • Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
